How to Keep Bra Inserts in Place

Bra inserts that slide, peek out or end up somewhere else by dessert are the most common complaint about push-up pads. The fix is usually one of three things: the insert has no grip, it's the wrong size, or it's placed wrong.

1. Use adhesive inserts, not loose pads

Loose foam pads rely on your bra to hold them, so they shift every time you move. Adhesive bra inserts have grip on both sides: one side sticks inside your bra cup, the other side holds to your skin. That double-sided adhesive is what keeps them in place through a dance floor.

2. Get the right size

3. Place them low and to the outside

Put the insert in the lower, outer part of the cup. That pushes you up and toward the center, which is where lift and cleavage come from. Placing it high just fills the top of the cup and can show.

4. Prep your skin

If your inserts stick to skin, the same rule as sticky bras applies: no lotion, oil or shimmer on your chest that day, and make sure you're dry.

5. Clean them between wears

Rinse the adhesive side with lukewarm water, let it air dry face up, and put the film back on. Clean inserts keep their grip for 40+ wears.
