Neckline checks

A bandeau has a simple outline, but its height and fabric tension can vary. Check the top and bottom edges around the full chest. A shallow bandeau may not cover the same product as a taller, structured strapless top.

Check the front height

Compare the upper cup edge, center clasp and lower cup edge with the bandeau fabric. Pop Up may suit a covered front and an open back, but the complete product needs to stay underneath the top.

Check the band's movement

Raise your arms and sit down. Notice whether the bandeau rolls or shifts above the cups. If you prefer a conventional strapless bra and the back is covered, that can be a useful comparison. Choose according to coverage and comfort rather than the top's name.

Your fitting checklist

  1. Check upper and lower edges
  2. Look for rolling fabric
  3. Compare the back coverage

Use the VELUNA size guide for the relevant product. Follow the instructions supplied with your product.

A common question

Can a very narrow bandeau cover any sticky bra?

No. The fabric needs enough height and width to cover the particular cups and clasp.
